The ‘Tareque Masud Film Week’ will begin on Friday at European Standard School in the city’s Dhanmondi.
The opening ceremony of the festival will be held at 5 pm, said organisers.
Muktir Gaan, Otorjatra, Runway, Noroshundor, Adam Surat and Matir Moina will be screened in the festival organised by Digital Life, according to a news agency.
The event will continue till January 16 and it will remain open for all.
Tareque Masud was a renowned Bangladeshi independent film director, filmmaker, film producer, screenwriter and lyricist.
His films - Muktir Gaan and Matir Moina – earned named and fame in home and abroad and for this, he bagged three international awards.
The filmmaker died in a road accident on August 13 in 2011 on the Dhaka-Aricha highway while returning to Dhaka from Manikganj after visiting a film spot.
Then Masud was working on Kagojer Phool (The Paper Flower).
In 2012, Tareque Masud posthumously received Ekushey Padak, the highest civilian award of Bangladesh.
