Akshay Kumar, who previously declined to star in the third instalment of the popular Bollywood comedy movie series Hera Pheri, has started shooting for the film with Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal.
He shared a picture from the set of promo-shooting with the other two lead actors, confirming the matter.
Earlier, reports suggested that the original trio was filming for the movie, but now a picture from the set has surfaced online, confirming that the team has indeed commenced shooting. Producer Firoz Nadiadwala was also photographed with the stars.
Akshay, Suniel, and Paresh starred in the first two instalments. After Akshay stepped down from the third film, Paresh Rawal announced on Twitter that Kartik Aaryan would replace Akshay, leading to huge social media anger among movie lovers.
In November last year, Akshay told the Indian national daily, the Hindustan Times, that he was not pleased with the way the script was being developed.
“The film was offered to me and I was told about it. But the screenplay, script, and everything, I was not satisfied, not happy with it. I have to do what people want to see, and that is why I backed out, I took a step behind," he said.
Priyadarshan directed the first instalment of Hera Pheri, and late Neeraj Vora directed the second film. It is yet to be revealed who is directing the third film.
Akshay had a disappointing 2022, with none of his five releases - Bachchhan Paandey, Ram Setu, Samrat Prithviraj, Cuttputlli, and Raksha Bandhan, receiving any appreciation.
In 2023, he will appear in Selfiee, the Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru, OMG 2, and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
