When 'She-Hulk: Attorney at Law' season finale marked the end of phase four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with utter disappointment, Marvel needed to redeem itself in phase five.
After the defeat of Thanos in 'Avengers: Endgame,' no other Marvel supervillain could replace him till now. But the recent trailer of 'Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania' gives fans hope for another supervillain who could outmatch, 'Thanos: Kang the Conqueror,' whom the least popular Avenger Ant-Man will face.
The trailer's beginning portrays Scott Lang, aka Ant-Man going on with his everyday life: being the best employee, taking care of his family and people mistakenly calling him Spider-man.
There's one thing he craves - popularity, although on the outside, he doesn't seem to care for it. However, his life events take a turn when his daughter Cassie creates a Quantum Satellite to send signals to the quantum realm, only to be sucked into that world with the rest of the ant-man crew.
Though the quantum scale of this universe is very much unknown, Janet Van Dyne, wife of Hank Pym from Ant-Man and The Wasp, seems to have ideas of it being stuck in here for a long time before. She warns from the beginning that this universe is not to be meddled with, and despite having the whole ant-man crew, she doesn't know the way to return to their universe.
As the trailer progresses, the ant-man crew traverses into the quantum universe and interacts with its inhabitants, hoping to find a way out.
Then the mastermind dramatically enters the story, Kang the Conqueror, who seems to be the ruler of this world. Jonathan Majors portrayed this character's alternate version in the first season of Loki, He Who Remains. But this time, he portrays the original Kang with the same likeness as the comic book version.
In the last part of this trailer, he seems to be negotiating with Ant-Man to cut a deal of returning him and his family back to their universe in return for taking back what's his. The audience might try to guess what Kang really lost and wants to take back. Theories by comic book fans suggest that it might be his time chair that grants him the ability to traverse through space and time.
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania premieres on February 17th next year, and the audience will see Ant-Man, Wasp and the rest of their family teaming up together to face this new multiversal threat.
As megalomaniac and manipulative Kang is, he might intend to conquer the whole space-time continuum by any means.
Will the ant-man crew realise Kang's plans? Can they stop him? Only the film has the answers to these questions, and the fans will expect nothing short of the exciting start of this new MCU phase.
