Tania Ahmed, a popular Bangladeshi TV actress, suggested all mothers-to-be to take advice not only from a physician but also from a psychiatrist.
“A mother-to-be needs mental healthiness besides physical healthiness. They are inter-connected,” she said.
“When a woman conceives, everyone gives importance only to her physical health often neglecting her mental health.”
The actress made the remarks while speaking at a discussion session of the public awareness television programme titled ‘Dettol-Channel I Porichchonno Bangladesh powered by Harpic’.
The programme will be telecast on Channel I on Saturday (today) at 8:00 pm, says a press release.
Popular film actor Riaz will host the episode, while Dr M A Mohit Kamal, Psychiatrist and Dr Rowshan Ara Begum, Maternity and gynaecology Specialist will also take part at the programme, the release said.
“When I was pregnant, my family took care of my mental well-being along with my physical well-being. For example, I liked to listen to songs and so I listened to a lot of songs. I had watched so many movies but I didn’t watch any violence related movie which could cause negative impact on my child,” Tania Ahmed shared from her experience of giving birth of her first child.
She also said, “I had even worked during my pregnancy. I had worked for outdoor shootings. I didn’t stop to work. But I took care of myself very carefully. I had taken care of my health by eating meals timely as well. I tried to follow my doctor’s instructions. That’s why I was able to work till the last day before the birth of my child”.
To aware the people about good health and cleanliness, Dettol and Channel I jointly have started ‘Dettol-Channel I Porichchonno Bangladesh Powered by Harpic Campaign’ on February, 2017.
