New opportunity for developers and creators
Windows 11 will enable developers and independent software vendors (ISVs) to bring their apps regardless of whether they’re built as a Win32, Progressive Web App (PWA), or Universal Windows App (UWP) or any other app framework, creating an opportunity to reach and engage with more people.
In case of revenue, Microsoft announced a gradual shift in their share policies where app developers can now bring their own commerce into Microsoft store and keep 100 per cent of the revenue. App developers can still use Microsoft’s commerce with competitive revenue share of 85/15.
According to Microsoft, Windows 11 was released on Tuesday. Eligible Windows 10 PCs will gradually receive a free upgrade, newer PC sales will come pre-installed with Windows 11, and updates will be rolled out in phases to all PCs.
