Role: National Professional Officer (AMR)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in coordination among MoHFW, government counterparts, development partners, and WHO Country, Regional and HQ offices for AMR-related activities, guided by the National Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance Containment. 
  • Collaborate with partners including the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), and the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP) in a ‘One Health approach to promoting best practices, including optimal use of antibiotics in both humans and animals. 
  • Ensure timely implementation and reporting of AMR activities within country workplans. 
  • Prepare SOPs, guidelines, and strategic documents related to AMR, in consultation with key stakeholders. 
  • Support training activities related to AMR.

Requirements:

  • Education:
  • Essential: Graduate degree in a health-related field (medicine, pharmacy, pharmacology, microbiology, public health, or equivalent) from a recognized university.
  • Desirable: Postgraduate degree in public health (MPH or equivalent). Training in infectious disease management, antimicrobial resistance, microbiology, or related field.
  • Experience:
  • Essential: At least 1 year of experience in public health.
  • Desirable: At least 5 years of experience in project management.
