US Forest Service International Program is a subsidiary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Since 2009, it has been operating in Bangladesh alongside USAID Bangladesh to tackle forest degradation issues in the country.

Vacancy Type: RS and GIS Assistants
Job Responsibilities:

Collect land cover training and validation sample point using Collect Earth/ Collect Earth Online which will be used for the generation of land cover primitives for Bangladesh.

Assist in land cover preparation for Bangladesh using the collected training sample.

Assist in land cover validation using the collected training sample.

Support other related duties as required and as may be assigned related to Bangladesh land cover mapping.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor of geography, forestry, environmental study, or geospatial science. Masters in the above-mentioned subjects will get preference.
Technical Requirements / Experience Requirements:

Have a good understanding of GIS and Remote Sensing operations.

Previous experience of Satellite Imagery processing will get preference.

Familiarity with the JavaScript-based Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform.
