About the Team:

The INSPIRE Center is an interdisciplinary center that brings together individuals and units with an interest in the areas of cybersecurity and privacy and is designated a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Research (CAE-R) by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security. 

About the Role of Postdoctoral Research Associate

The successful applicant will work with Prof. Daniel Takabi at the Department of Computer Science and the INSPIRE Center at Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA. 

Primary duties and responsibilities include: 

  • Conduct original research in the area of private AI. 
  • Work with graduate students (with an opportunity to co-supervise). 
  • Publish papers on findings at conferences and in journals. 
  • Participate in software development.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Background in research focusing on private AI. 
  • Excellent written communication skills demonstrated by prior publications. 
  • Creative experience in asking and answering important research questions by leading on prior research activities. 
  • Completed/ near completion of a PhD in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or related area. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in privacy-preserving machine learning with homomorphic encryption. 
  • Background knowledge in deep learning. 
  • Understanding of the relevant literature. 
  • A good understanding of software development practices.
