Job Responsibilities
- The Project Director - SNMP is overall responsible for the management of Strengthening National Midwifery Programme (SNMP) under the direct supervision of Director - Health, Nutrition and HIV/AIDS.
- S/he will lead the programme implementation and is responsible for providing technical support to the Managers, Clinical Mentors, and other relevant colleagues to ensure results including the quality.
- The role will include program development, implementation design, coordination with donor and other stakeholders for introduction and/or strengthening the state of the midwifery interventions into health systems and government operational plans.
- S/he will provide inputs to improve monitoring and evaluation, program learning and documentation, provide support in designing program-based research, and dissemination, sharing of key results and learning at local, national, and global levels. In addition to strategic leadership, this position will also manage budget, staff, and partners.
- The position will work in close collaboration with the Director-Health, Nutrition & HIV/AIDS and Senior Advisor-Health & Nutrition of SCI.

Additional Requirements
- At least 7 years experience in the field of maternal, newborn and child health-related programs and a minimum of 3 years working experience to coordinate and lead large scale public health programs in management positions.
- Demonstrated experience working with senior-level policymakers and donors on health program planning is essential.
- S/he must have the competency to strategic coordination and collaboration with MOHFW, UN agencies, NGOs, Institutions and Development partners involved in maternal, newborn and child health programs.
- Sound knowledge on Bangladesh maternal, newborn and child health situation.
- Excellent technical knowledge on maternal, newborn and child health programming and a good understanding of national policies/strategies/programs.
- Excellent communication, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation skills.
- Ability to set program strategies, develop implementation guidelines, and advocate different strategies at the national level.
