Role: National Environmental and Social Safeguards Policy Specialist
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop a work plan for the review and development of LGED ESS policy.
- Undertake a review of institutional and project-related environmental and social safeguards policy documents of LGED regulations, policies and institutions with reference to GCF safeguards (especially ESS) standards and requirements.
- Identify key compliance issues in existing (if any) national ESS guidelines and frameworks to infer in preparation of LGED ESS policy.
- Prepare an assessment highlighting gaps, challenges and opportunities for LGED in meeting GCF and National safeguards guidelines and requirements.

Job Requirements:
- Advanced degree in the field of climate change, environment, sustainable development or other relevant disciplines.
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience in developing and/or reviewing environmental and social assessments, and regulatory and policy frameworks for projects and institutions within or outside Bangladesh.
