Requirements:
Minimum / Essential
- Cambridge CELTA/Trinity Cert TESOL or equivalent
- Recognised diploma in EFL (i.e., DELTA/Trinity DipTESOL) *
*May be waived if the candidate commits to completing DELTA in the first year if selected for this role.
Desirable – TYLEC or YL extension to CELTA
Relevant postgraduate qualification (MA) (TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Education etc.)
Language Requirements
- High proficiency in English i.e., full mastery of English across all 4-skills equivalent to the user (CEFR C2) IELTS Band 8/9 in each of 4 sections of the academic module.
- The British Council systems and global processes operate in English. Written and verbal proficiency in English is required.
Role-specific knowledge and experience
Essential
- 4 years’/2400+ hours of teaching experience post certificate (i.e., CELTA/Trinity certTESOL), including 400+ hours of Primary courses (7-11 years) and 400+ hours of Secondary courses (12-17 years).
- Ability to effectively communicate with and engage children and their families.
Desirable
- Experience teaching Early Years/Learning Time with Timmy (4-6 years).
