BANGLADESH is a beautiful country and mother Nature has given us bountiful resources. These resources can help us achieve quick growth if we use them to our advantage. We depend entirely on export of readymade garments and remittance from Bangladeshis working abroad for our foreign exchange reserve. But if we open up other avenues we shall be able to move further and take the country on to the next level of economic development. Tourism is one area that has plenty of potentials.
A well-conceived promotional campaign highlighting the natural beauty of the country should be carried on throughout the year to attract foreign tourists alongside some improved facilities should be extended to the tourists. Such efforts will attract tourists to come in greater numbers. New employment for local people will be created and the economy will get a much desired boost. It will also help reduce our dependence on RMG and migrant workers, provide us with an alternative way to achieve growth.
We have the longest natural beach in the world, largest mangrove forest, beautiful hill stations, islands and archeological sites. We can project these through internet to attract tourists. Let us explore the tourism sector and diversify our economic activities.
