RAMADAN is a time when we should be extra careful about our health. We should go for only healthy foods after day long fasting. It is not easy to resist the temptation of foods, particularly iftar items displayed in different food shops and restaurants during Ramadan, but we should do so to keep healthy. A spell of hot summer is now going on in the country and so it is essential that we should be extra careful about our foods. Long hours of fasting make us weaker and reduce our capacity to shield against diseases. We are sufficiently dehydrated during Ramadan more so in a summer as hot as it is now and refurbishing and re-hydration is important after we break our fast. We should take adequate water and other healthy drinks so that our body remains well hydrated to enable us to stay healthy during Ramadan.
