I have to go to Admajee Export Processing Zone (EPZ) quite frequently and to my utter surprise, I find that the road under the Kanchpur bridge has been in a dilapidated shape for the last five years. This road that leads to the Adamjee EPZ is an important one as every day many foreign and local investors have to negotiate it. It looks like no body is accountable for the present condition of the road. The road is also a vital one as goods worth millions of dollars are exported through it. Inside the Adamjee EPZ, we see a fairly good infrastructure, but this extremely dilapidated road leading to the zone is an eyesore. It is definitely turning the nation's image. A few days ago, I was going to the EPZ with a foreign buyer and I was really in an awkward position seeing the shockingly poor condition of the road. I really fail to understand how such an important road can remain so neglected for years together. The government is trying to attract foreign investors but poor road structures dampen the spirit of the foreign investors. I hope the authority will rise to the occasion and take prompt action.
