Question-paper leak

TEST for admission to medical colleges is going to commence. Admission tests for public universities will also start soon. Admission seekers will rush to take this opportunity to prove their competence for admission. But of late the issue of question paper leak has assumed ominous proportions. All exercises of the concerned authorities to curb this criminal act seem to have failed to make any impact. It is indeed a matter of great concern that several incidents of question paper leak have created an uncertain situation for meritorious students.
Last year, questions of admission test for medical colleges raised a mass uproar in  society. Students were bound to come to the streets and they lashed out at the authorities and demanded another admission test. But the health minister side-tracked the issue, calling it a rumour. Apart from, 'ka' and 'kha' units of Dhaka University question papers were also leaked out and the Vice-Chancellor could not give a satisfactory explanation on the matter. Educationalists remark that, this is absolutely unexpected and the indifference of higher authorities and weak surveillance made this possible. The sufferings of the students knew no bounds. General students are innocent victims of the situation.  Actually, an enabling environment is necessary to stop this. It is high time that this very important issue was tackled without any fear or favour and admission tests for higher studies were conducted transparently.
