President Xi Jinping\'s visit

Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Bangladesh is taking place at a time when Bangladesh-China relationship on the economic and commercial fronts is reaching newer heights.
It is expected that this visit will create a congenial atmosphere to further strengthen this relationship and consolidate the centuries-old China-Bangla friendship.
While the dynamics of WTO and globalization will further strengthen the business relations between the two nations and establish closer communication corridors between nations, I wonder if our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina takes a bold and courageous move to convince our honoured guest for a Dhaka Declaration to establish regional as well as international peace in the line of the now forgotten Panchasheel of 1955 adopted in Bandung Indonesia by the leaders of the post-world war generation  such as Chou En Li, Dr Kwame Enkruma, Jawaharlal Nehru, Gamal Andul Naser, Jozep Broz Tito and others for launching a Non- aligned Movement  for the newly emerging countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America.
Gone are the days of the Non- alignment Movement and its spirit no longer continues to guide the policies of the smaller and newly independent nations and the big bullies continue to  suppress these nations from all fronts.
No one expects a Dhaka Declaration to be adopted in course of only one meeting, but one could at least hope that a process can be initiated for a comprehensive discussion in this regard at a future date in Dhaka between the two nations and others. It will be a spectacular achievement for the peoples of Asia Africa and Latin America in particular and the humanity as a whole in general.
May I draw the attention of both the prime minister of the People's Republic of Bangladesh and the Honourable President Xi Jingping of the People's Republic of China to consider the matter for the greater interest of peace and prosperity in the region.
