TERRORISM has assumed ominous proportions globally and we need to address the menace with a concerted global effort. I think light of education can work as a panacea to the increasing spate of terrorism around the world. We need to spread the light of education to enable people of the world to distinguish between right and wrong, good and evil, and equality and disparity so that the poisonous roots of terrorism cannot spread any further. Terrorism has its roots in poverty and illiteracy and we shall be able to eradicate terrorism if we can remove poverty through education and enlightenment. There is no quick-fix solution for terrorism. Events like invasion of Iraq by US have only aggravated the situation. There are similar other events that led to further aggravation of world peace and as a result the humanity is still bleeding. Global terrorism has made our life unsafe. Education can ensure our return to peace and harmony. It is easy to misguide some one who is illiterate and use him or her as a weapon to spread terrorism.
