This is a risky practice and should be avoided as far as possible. The practice is riskier for people who buy antibiotics from medicine shops without consulting a doctor.
In medical terminology this is called over the counter sales or OTC.
OTC is very restricted in the developed countries and any violation of OTC rules is punishable under law.
