Indiscriminate use of posters, banners, graffiti

DHAKA is home to 16 million people.  But it is indeed sad to see that most of the Dhaka city walls are disfigured by various kinds of posters and banners and it is an eyesore for the city dwellers as well as for foreigners.
A few days ago as I was crossing the Moghbazar flyover, I found the whole surrounding was smudged by various kinds of movie and political posters. We see posters, festoons and banners in our city everywhere and it gives our city a dirty look. There is a regulation in this regard but no one bothers about it. If the law is not strictly enforced, it will only exist on paper and not in reality. I hope the city corporations will take a positive action plan in this regard and create public awareness about the importance of keeping our city beautiful and tidy.
We can keep our city cleaner and more beautiful if only we can stop pasting posters and banners on our city walls.  A clean and tidy house is good for a family, but a clean and tidy city is good for its residents and the image of the country to the outside world. Let us start beautification of Dhaka and gradually make the rest of the country clean and beautiful.
