IT is extremely shocking to know that more than 40 people died in lightning across the country on last Thursday evening. We never ever heard of so many people dying in lightning on a single day. I have no idea about how many people die of lightning strikes in the world every year. But it can be said without hesitation that the number is quite sizeable. Apart from nature's doing, human beings are also partly responsible for deaths in incidents of lightning and thunder. We should remain indoors and avoid being outside in an open area during thunderstorm. There is a saying "when thunder roars, go indoors". Often we see people walking on the roads during thunderstorm which is totally unsafe and could be fatal. The pedestrians should run for safety if they are caught up in rough weather. We should remain alert to reduce the chances of being struck by lightning and thunder.
