WHAT will happen if your closest one suddenly falls sick at midnight or starts suffering from severe fever suddenly? You will surely be very tense and start looking for doctors either from the contacts recorded in your cell phone or call your near and dear ones if they could help you find a doctor. But you will never know that anything bad may happen to your patient for your wrong or lack of decision. First Aid treatment is obviously essential for the patient at that moment. But you do not know how to do it.
A call centre of the government is an answer to this question. I do not know how many of you are aware or conscious about it. The call centre has been launched by the government a few months ago. This service has been named as 'Government Health Call Centre: Shasthobatayon' which is now available all over the country.
One has to just call 16263 and inform the person receiving the call of your problem. The doctor from the other side of telephone will give the solution. Besides, people can also get public or private ambulance service by calling this number. The centre will entertain complaints against any public or private hospital. If there is any wrong against them the matter will be transferred directly to the Directorate General of Health Service (DGHS). This is indeed a great move by the government and we should take full advantage of the facility.
