Dhaka Stock Exchange Wednesday opened positively with a steady rise in efforts to break its losing streak.
The premier bourse saw its broad index DSEX upwards for more than one hours mainly riding on banks.
The DSEX stood at 6135 points with a rise of 0.50 per cent or 31 points, when the report was filed at 11:30am.
The shariah based index DSES and blue chip index DS30 rose marginally on the premier bourse.
Of the traded issues, 115 advanced, 121 declined and 54 were unchanged and the turnover stood at above Tk 1.95 billion.
Jamuna Bank, Shahjalal Islami Bank, Uttara Bank, EXIM Bank, IFIC Bank and BBS Cables were on the top of turnover chart.
