Many listed banks have registered moderate growth in EPS (earnings per share) for January-March (Q1), 2022 against the same period of the previous year.
Of the banks which saw rise in earnings, the consolidated EPS of Eastern Bank rose 14.67 per cent to close at Tk. 1.25 for January-March 2022 against Tk. 1.09 for January-March 2021.
Of other banks, the consolidated EPS of Trust Bank advanced 29.34 per cent to close at Tk. 1.19, Mutual Trust Bank 5.41 per cent to close at Tk. 0.78, Premier Bank 16.07 per cent to close at Tk. 0.65, Bank Asia 0.95 per cent to close at Tk 1.06, and Mercantile Bank 40.98 per cent to close at Tk 0.86 for January-March, 2022 compared to the same period of the previous year.
Southeast Bank reported a consolidated EPS of Tk. 1.31 for January-March 2022 against Tk. 1.22 for January-March 2021 while EXIM Bank has posted consolidated EPS of Tk. 0.25 for January-March 2022 against Tk. 0.05 for January-March, 2021.
The EPS of Dutch-Bangla Bank advanced 23.77 per cent to close at Tk. 1.77 for January-March 2022 from Tk. 1.43 reported for January-March 2021.
For the January-March, 2022 Shahjalal Islami Bank has reported its consolidated EPS of Tk 0.98, First Security Islami Bank Tk 0.56, Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd. Tk 0.52, NCC Bank Tk 0.59 and Pubali Bank Tk 1.19.
The EPS of these banks advanced ranging 13 per cent to 80 per cent for January-March, 2022 compared to the same period of the previous year.
BRAC Bank has reported its consolidated EPS of Tk. 0.77 for January-March 2022 against Tk. 0.82 for January-March 2021.
IFIC Bank has reported its consolidated EPS of Tk. 0.19 for January-March 2022 against Tk. 0.44 for January-March 2021.
Standard Bank has posted a consolidated EPS of Tk. 0.13 for January-March 2022 against Tk. 0.17 for January-March 2021.
The consolidated EPS of Social Islami Bank was Tk. 0.14 for January-March 2022 against Tk. 0.31 for January-March 2021.
National Bank incurred a consolidated loss of Tk 0.18 for January-March 2022 against Tk. 0.12 for January-March 2021.
