The government has appointed two commissioners at the securities regulator to make the commission functional removing the quorum crisis.
The ministry of finance (MoF) confirmed their appointment for four years through a gazette notification issued on Wednesday.
The newly-appointed two commissioners are Dr. Sheikh Shamsuddin Ahmed, a professor of finance at Dhaka University (DU) and Dr. Mizanur Rahman, a professor of accounting and information systems at DU.
Both the commissioners joined the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) on Wednesday, said the BSEC executive director Mohammad Saifur Rahman.
