Ten most traded companies accounted for 30.5 per cent of transactions on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Wednesday, with the United Power Generation & Distribution Company generating the highest turnover.
The ten companies posted a combined turnover of Tk 1.40 billion while the total turnover of DSE stood at Tk 4.56 billion.
The United Power topped the chart of top 10 companies by contributing a turnover of Tk 293.6 million.
The power generation company alone captured 6.4 per cent of the market turnover. Its share price closed 1.47 per cent or Tk 5.70 higher at Tk 393.20 each.
The National Tubes came second on the turnover chart, featuring a turnover of Tk 197.5 million or 4.3 per cent of the total turnover.
The company's share price rose 5.82 per cent or Tk 7.0 to close at Tk 126.70 each.
Monno Ceramic Industries bagged the third position, posting a turnover of Tk 156.9 million or 3.4 per cent of the market turnover. Its share price closed at Tk 216.20 each with a marginal rise of 0.51 per cent or Tk 1.1.
Wata Chemicals grabbed 3.0 per cent of the market turnover by contributing a turnover of Tk 139.2 million. The company's share price climbed 5.28 per cent or Tk 29.40 to close at Tk 587.
Monno Jute Stafflers captured 2.7 per cent of the market turnover by generating a turnover of Tk 125.2 million. Its price advanced 5.0 per cent or Tk 70.3 to close at Tk 1474.60 each.
Other turnover leaders are JMI Syringes & Medical Devices (Tk 124.4 million), Global Insurance Company (Tk 103.8 million), Silco Pharmaceuticals (Tk 98.1 million), British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company (Tk 81.3 million) and Beacon Pharmaceuticals (Tk 81.1 million).
