A technical glitch halted trading at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) since 10:58 am on Monday.
Top officials of the country’s premier bourse said they were trying to solve the glitch and resume trading as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, stock investors became angry because of repeated technical issues at DSE.
“We are under pressure from our investors amid the technical glitch halting the trading at the DSE,” said a stockbroker.
Till then, DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went down by 32.92 points or 0.51 per cent to settle at 6,311.
Of the issues traded, 79 declined, 25 advanced and 199 remained unchanged till 10:58 am.
Turnover, a crucial indicator of the market, stood at Tk 2.28 billion till then.
However, trading on the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) kept going where its All Share Price Index – CASPI – shed over 96 points to 18,623 and the Selective Categories Index – CSCX – lost over 58 points to 11,161 at 12:15 pm.
Of the issues traded, 49 declined, 18 advanced and 81 remained unchanged on the CSE with a turnover value of Tk 57 million until 12:15 pm
