Stocks turned around at midday on Monday as optimistic investors are taking position on sector-wise stocks, taking the advantage of low prices of available lucrative stocks.
Following the previous 13 days’ 423 points correction, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) saw positive while the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened lower, but trading activities remains low.
Within first 30 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced more than 2.91 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse fell 10 points at 10:30am.
After first hour of trading, the DSEX advanced more than 2.0 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse fell 6.68 points at 11:00am.
After that the market started to upward trend. After first two hours of trading, the DSEX rose more than 43 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse gained 78 points at 12:00 noon when the report was filed.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 5,434 points, gaining 43.79 points at 12:00 noon.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, rose 7.08 points or 0.35 per cent to reach at 2,016 points till then.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also advanced 10 points or 0.78 per cent to stand at 1,275 points till then.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at Tk 3.90 billion, when the report was filed at 12:00 noon.
Inraco Refueling Station was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth Tk 205 million changing hands, closely followed by Grameenphone Tk 155 million, Beximco Tk 95 million, Keya Cosmetics Tk 78 million and Monno Ceramic Industries Tk 74 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 235 advanced, 41 declined and 34 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
The port city bourse also saw upward trend till then with CSE All Shares Price Index of port city’s bourse – gaining 78 points to stand at 16,713 points, also at 12:00 noon.
The Selective Categories Index of the CSE also gained 47 points to reach at 10,107 points till then.
Of the issues traded till then, 103 gained, 39 declined and 14 issues remained unchanged with Tk 196 million in turnover.
