Stocks opened almost flat on Sunday as the investors were active on both sides of the trading fence.
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went down by 0.94 points or 0.01 per cent to stand at 6,983, after the first hour of trading at 11:00am.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also down by 4.37 points to stand at 2,627. However, the Shariah Index (DSES) gained 2.35 points to stand at 1,477 till then.
Turnover, another important indicator of the market, stood at Tk 3.04 billion within the first hour of trading at 11:00am.
Of the issues traded till then, 171 advanced, 149 declined and 51 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor till then.
Saif Powetec was the most traded stock till then with shares worth Tk 326 changing hands.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange also opened marginally lower with its All Shares Price Index (CASPI)—losing 8.10 points to stand at 20,454 while the Selective Categories Index – CSCX shedding 4.95 points to reach at 12,289, also at 11:00am.
Of the issues traded till then 68 advanced, 62 declined and 20 remained unchanged with Tk 70 million in turnover.
