The authorities have changed the category of two listed companies, Oimex Electrode and Deshbandhu Polymer, effective from January 21 (Sunday) as they reported disbursement of 10 per cent stock dividend each for the year ended on June 30, 2017.
Oimex Electrode will be placed in the "A" category from the existing "N" category while the Deshbandhu Polymer will be promoted to the "A" category from the existing "Z" category.
The stockbrokers and merchant bankers are requested to abstain from providing loan facilities to purchase securities of Oimex and Deshbandhu during the period from 1st to 30th trading day after change of the categories with effect from January 21, 2018 as per securities regulator's directive in this regard.
The share price of Oimex Electrode, which made its share trading debut on the Dhaka bourse on November 6, 2017, closed at Tk 57.90, losing 4.45 per cent over the previous day.
The share price of Deshbandhu Polymer closed at Tk 22.70, shedding 0.87 per cent over the day before. The company was listed with the Dhaka bourse in 2011.
