Ten most traded companies grabbed one-fourth transactions on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Thursday, with the National Tubes generating the highest turnover.
Market insiders said investors were active on National Tubes shares amid dividend expectation as the company's year ended on June 30.
According to the DSE data, about 844,268 shares of National Tubes were traded, generating a turnover of nearly 146 million, which was 4.44 per cent of the day's total turnover of Tk 3.28 billion.
The state-run company's share price closed at Tk 172.80 each on Thursday, gaining 3.72 per cent over the previous day.
The company's earnings per share (EPS) stood at negative Tk 0.96 for July 2018-March 2019 as against negative Tk 2.24 for July 2017-March 2018.
The net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) was Tk 0.03 for July 2018-March 2019 as against negative Tk 1.26 for July 2017-March 2018.
The net asset value (NAV) per share was Tk 175.07 as on March 31, 2019 and Tk 193.62 as on June 30, 2018.
The National Tubes, listed on the DSE in 1989, disbursed 10 per cent stock dividend in 2018.
The company's paid-up capital is Tk 316.56 million and authorised capital is Tk 1.0 billion while total number of securities is 31.65 million.
