The ten most traded companies accounted for 23.73 per cent of transactions on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Thursday, with the National Life Insurance Company making its way to the top of the turnover chart.
On the day, the total turnover of the prime bourse stood at Tk 3.51 billion.
The National Life Insurance generated a turnover of Tk 188.90 million, making up 5.38 per cent of the total turnover.
The company's share price closed 8.23 per cent or Tk 20.40 higher at Tk 260.40 each.
Of other turnover leaders, Federal Insurance Company generated a turnover of Tk 107.30 million, which is 3.06 per cent of the market turnover.
The company's share price closed at Tk 15.40 each, registering a rise of 9.93 per cent or Tk 1.40.
Grameenphone featured a turnover of Tk 88 million, making up 2.51 per cent of the market turnover. Its share price declined 0.87 per cent to close at Tk 331.60.
The Rupali Insurance Company posted a turnover of Tk 77.20 million, which is 2.20 per cent of the market turnover.
The company's share price declined 2.79 per cent or Tk 0.7 to close at Tk 24.40 each.
Monno Ceramic Industries captured 2.13 per cent of the market turnover as it generated a turnover of Tk 74.80 million.
The company's share price closed at Tk 175.50.
Other turnover leaders include the United Power Generation & Distribution Company (Tk 65.70 million), Runner Automobiles (Tk 63.70 million), Asian Tiger Sandhani Life Growth Fund (Tk 62.50 million), SinoBangla Industries (Tk 56.40 million) and the National Tubes (Tk 48 million).
