Mutual Trust Bank (MTB) Limited on Monday formally launched a special campaign called 'Ei Somoyer Islami Banking', in order to promote its shariah-based banking operations 'MTB Yaqeen'.
The top officials of the private commercial bank launched the campaign at a ceremony held at its corporate head office in the city's Gulshan area.
MTB Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Deputy Managing Director and Chief Business Officer (CBO) Md Khalid Mahmood Khan, Head of MTB Islamic Banking Division Md Arif Bin Idrish were present at the launching ceremony.
MTB Shariah Supervisory Committee members, including Mawlana Sheikh Shah Mohammad Wali Ullah and Md Fariduddin Ahmed, were present at the ceremony.
The bank launched its Islamic banking wing, titled 'MTB Yaqeen', in 2021 with a view to prioritise and fulfil the customers' expectations and overall needs, the event was told.
Speaking on the occasion, Syed Mahbubur Rahman requested the bank officials to gather knowledge about the shariah-based banking as many existing customers also show interest in the service in addition to new customers.
"We should also provide the best services…to become the leading bank in both shariah-based and traditional banking," he said.
The campaign highlights providing time-befitting services to the customers, which is crucial to bring more deposits from the clients, noted the CEO.
The shariah-based banking has gained tremendous response from the new and existing customers of the bank in the last one year, he added.
The MTB Islamic Banking Segment has already introduced various products and services under its retail banking, SME banking, corporate banking and cards, the event was told.
