The board of directors of Janata Insurance Company Limited has recommended 5.0 per cent stock dividend for the year ended on December 31, 2017, said an official disclosure on Monday.
The annual general meeting (AGM) will be held on September 4. Venue and time will be notified later. The record date is on July 31.
The company has also reported earnings per share (EPS) of BDT 0.50, net asset value (NAV) per share of BDT 13.89 and net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) of BDT 0.57 for the year ended on December 31, 2017 as against BDT 0.22, BDT 13.39 and minus BDT 0.13 respectively for the same period of the previous year.
There will be no price limit on the trading of the shares of the company today following its corporate declaration.
The company also disclosed first quarter (Q1) earnings on Sunday.
As per un-audited Q1 financial reports, EPS was Tk 0.22 for January-March, 2018 as against Tk 0.19 for January-March, 2017.
NOCFPS was Tk 0.61 for January-March, 2018 as against Tk 0.03 for January-March, 2017. NAV per share was Tk 14.11 as on March 31, 2018 and Tk 13.59 as on March 31, 2017.
Each share of the company closed at Tk 13.90 on Sunday at the Dhaka bourse.
Janata Insurance was listed on the Dhaka Stocks Exchange (DSE) in 1994.
The company’s paid-up capital is 383.53 million, authorised capital is Tk 1.0 billion and the total number of securities is 38.35 million.
Sponsor-directors own 40.74 per cent stake in the company while institutional investors 19.47 per cent and the general public 39.79 per cent as on May 31, 2018.
