The listed company GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Bangladesh will be named as 'Unilever Consumer Care' soon, a disclosure said.
The company's name is going to be changed following the acquisition of GSK Bangladesh by Unilever Overseas Holdings B.V.
Unilever has purchased 81.98 pc stake of the GSK Bangladesh from SETFIRST Ltd, one of the corporate directors of the GSK Bangladesh.
The deal worth Tk 22.25 billion was executed on Sunday on the block board of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).
"The board of directors has recommended change of the name of the GSK Bangladesh to Unilever Consumer Care subject to obtaining approval from RJSC&F, members' approval in EGM and other applicable regulatory approval," the company said through a disclosure posted on the DSE website.
The company's board has also been restructured keeping the chairman and finance director unchanged.
Masud Khan, previous nominee chairman of the GSK Bangladesh, has been chosen the nominee chairman at the Unilever Consumer Care.
"Previously, I was chairman as the GSK's nominee. Now, I have become the unilever's nominee chairman at Unilever Consumer Care," Masud Khan said.
