Eastern Bank Ltd (EBL) has declared 15 per cent cash dividend for the year ended on 31 December 2019.
Shareholders unanimously approved the dividend at the 28th Annual General Meeting of the Bank held on virtual platform today (Wednesday), according to e media release.
Md Showkat Ali Chowdhury, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company, presided over the meeting which was attended by the Directors- M. Ghaziul Haque, Mir Nasir Hossain, Salina Ali, Anis Ahmed, Meah Mohammed Abdur Rahim, Mufakkharul Islam Khasru, Ormaan Rafay Nizam, Gazi Md. Shakhawat Hossain; Ali Reza Iftekhar, Managing Director and CEO and Md. Abdullah Al Mamun, Acting Company Secretary and a large number of shareholders.
The shareholders appreciated the Board and Management for the financial performance of the bank despite challenging environment. The dividend declared by EBL is one of the highest among similar sized (in terms of paid-up capital) commercial banks of the country.
