Dhaka bourse witnessed a moderate loss in its broad index and turnover amid a declining trend observed throughout the whole session on Sunday.
On the first day of the week, the losers took control over the gainers and turnover came down below Tk 5-billion mark.
The market started the session with a negative mood and there was no recovery observed till its closure.
At the end of the session, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE)’s broad index DSEX closed at 6268.42 points with a loss of 0.54 per cent or 34.42 points.
Its Shariah-based index and blue chip also declined marginally on the DSE, the premier bourse.
Of total number of issues traded, 96 advanced, 189 declined and 50 were unchanged and the turnover went beyond Tk 4.85 billion.
United Power Generation and Distribution Company topped the turnover chart with a value of Tk 401 million followed by IFAD Autos, National Tubes and City Bank.
