The Dhaka Stocks Exchange (DSE) continued the declining trend on Tuesday amid investors’ cautious stance of injecting fresh funds.
The market opened the day’s session with a negative note but no recovery stance was observed within one hour of the session.
The DSE broad index DSEX lost 0.68 per cent or 37 points to stand at 5335.24 points after one hour of the session.
The shariah based index DSES declined 0.56 per cent or 7.04 points to close 1233.56 points.
The DS30 index comprising blue chip securities went down by 0.97 per cent or 18.77 points to 1905.80.
Of total issues traded, 72 advanced, 177 declined and 59 were unchanged.
The turnover stood at above Tk 950 million at 11.30 am on the DSE.
Esquire Knit Composite made debut share trading on Tuesday and was on the top of the turnover chart with a value of Tk 216 million followed by British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company and Eastern Cables.
