The prices of most of the shares on both bourses witnessed a negative trend Monday with slow trading as investors remained cautious.
After first 30 minutes of trading, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) slipped 16.17 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index of Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) lost 24.76 points at 11:00am when the report was filed.
DSEX, main index of DSE, went down by 16.17 points or 0.25 per cent to reach 6,252.
Two other indices of the premier bourse also fell.
Of those, DS30 index, comprising blue chips, dropped 7.50 points or 0.32 per cent to reach 2,275, and DSE Shariah Index (DSES) lost 1.63 points or 0.11 per cent to stand at 1,401 points.
Turnover, an important indicator of the market, stood at Tk 486 million.
Of the issues traded, 93 nudged higher, 91 declined and 62 remained unchanged.
National Tube Limited was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 45 million changing hands, closely followed by Exim Bank Tk 31 million, IFAD Autos Tk 25 million, City Bank Tk 23 million and FU Wang food Tk 22 million.
Port city bourse CSE also saw its All Shares Price Index, CAPSI, losing 23.76 points to stand at 19,370 and Selective Categories Index of the CSE falling 14.79 points to reach 11,705 points.
Of the issues traded, 23 gained, 40 declined and 16 issues remained unchanged with Tk 18 million in turnover.
