The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) opened Sunday’s session with a marginal loss and continued the trend for more than two hours.
DSEX, the broad index of the country's premier bourse, witnessed a correction as most of the securities of the major sectors such as bank, engineering, and fuel & power suffered losses.
The key index of the DSE stood at 5447.40 points with a loss of 0.22 per cent or 12.50 points when the report was filed at 12.38pm.
The Shariah based index DSES declined 0.54 per cent or 6.92 points to close at 1262.49 points till then.
The DS30 index comprising blue chip securities also went down by 0.25 per cent or 5.01 points to close at 1943.45 points at that time.
Of the total issues are being traded, 87 advanced, 194 declined, and 53 remained unchanged on the premier bourse.
The turnover on the premier bourse stood at above Tk 1.58 billion when the report was filed.
United Power Generation and Distribution Company was on the top of the turnover chart till then with a value of Tk 165 million followed by Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company, Fortune Shoes, Grameenphone, and British American Tobacco (Bangladesh) Company.
