The Dhaka bourse started Monday’s session with a positive note and maintained the trend for one hour of the session.
The market opened positively and DSEX — the broad index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) witnessed an upward trend for first ten minutes.
Later, the DSEX displayed a flat movement following a mixed performance played by the major sectors.
Among the key sectors, banking sector performed mixed, while fuel & power, financial institutions displayed a positive performance.
After one hour of the session, the DSE broad index settled at 5363.89 points with a rise of 0.46 per cent or 24.70 points.
The shariah based index DSES and blue chip index DS30 also advanced marginally.
The turnover value stood at above Tk 3.21 billion on the country's premier bourse when the report was filed at 11:30am.
Of the issues traded till then, 169 advanced, 100 declined, and 43 remained unchanged.
BBS Cables was on top of turnover chart with a value of Tk 147 million followed by The Peninsula Chittagong, KDS Accessories, Nahee Aluminum, and Dragon Sweater and Spinning.
