The securities regulator has formed a two-member committee to look into the unusual transactions of the shares of two listed pharmaceuticals companies.
The companies are Beacon Pharmaceuticals and Central Pharmaceuticals.
The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) on Thursday formed the committee comprising its deputy director Shamsur Rahman and Assistant Director Sultan Salauddin.
The committee has been asked to submit its report within 30 working days.
The BSEC officials said the companies recently have observed unusual transactions in shares.
According to information of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the share price of Beacon Pharmaceuticals closed at Tk 60.70 each on July 6.
Later, the company's share price rose 25 per cent or Tk 15.20 in seven sessions and closed at Tk 75.90 each on Wednesday.
On Thursday, the company's share price declined 3.03 per cent or Tk 2.30 to close at Tk 74.20 each.
The share price of Central Pharmaceuticals closed at Tk 12.80 each on June 23 and later rose to Tk 13.30 each on June 30 last.
Afterwards, the company's share price witnessed see-sawmovement and closed at Tk 12.40 each on Thursday.
