Top 10 companies saw rise in investors' participation in last week compared to previous week on Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).
In last week, top 10 companies grabbed 21.28 per cent of weekly turnover featured by the premier bourse DSE.
Of the companies, Bangladesh Export Import Company (Beximco) in last week posted a total turnover of Tk 7.09 billion which was Tk 6.70 billion in the week ended on August 26.
The company's share price closed at Tk 116.90 each on Thursday last with a rise of 1.12 per cent from the closing price of previous week.
British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company (BATBC) in last week posted a total turnover of Tk 3.63 billion which was Tk 2.09 billion in previous week.
The company's share price closed at Tk 658.80 each on Thursday last with a rise of 12.60 per cent from the closing price of previous week.
In last week, SAIF Powertec grabbed 2.19 per cent of weekly market turnover after featuring a value of Tk 3.03 billion. The company's share price closed at Tk 33.80 each on Thursday last with a rise of 11.50 per cent from the closing price of previous week.
Beximco Pharmaceutical posted a total turnover of Tk 3.03 billion in last week and captured 2.18 per cent of market turnover. During the week, the company's share price closed at Tk 224.10 each on Thursday last with a rise of 8.68 per cent compared to closing price of previous week.
Square Pharmaceuticals grabbed 2.10 per cent of weekly turnover after featuring a total turnover of Tk 2.19 billion. During the week, the company's share price closed at Tk 248.10 on Thursday last with a rise of 8.15 per cent compared to closing price of previous week.
LafargeHolcim Bangladesh featured a total turnover of Tk 2.57 billion billion in last week and grabbed 1.86 per cent of weekly market turnover.
At the end of the week, the company's share price closed at Tk 79.4 each on Thursday last with a 0.89 per cent from the closing price of previous week.
Of other top 10 turnover leaders, LankaBangla Finance featured a total turnover of Tk 1.90 billion followed by Doreen Power Generations and Systems Tk 1.90 billion, Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Tk 1.87 billion and Shahjibazar Power Tk 1.60 billion in last week.
