South Africa bounced back after losing against Australia in their opening match as they beat West Indies by 8 Wickets. Aiden Markram's blitzing fifty took to South Africa home.

In response to a tricky target, Skipper Bavuma fell too early to a Russell direct throw. After his dismissal, Reeza Hendricks and Van Der Dussen kept the scoreboard ticking with sensible cricket.

The former departed after a useful 39 off 30. The journey from there seemed an easy one for Van Der Dussen and Aiden Markram. Markram has done what Pakistan did last night. He smacked any loose ball targeted at him and otherwise, he was on his feet.

West Indies bowlers, throughout the innings, failed to exert any pressure on the RSA batters. Victory for proteas seemed almost a matter of time throughout the innings.

A wonderful partnership of 83 from 57 between Rassie Van Der Dussen and Aiden Markram ensured a healthy victory for South Africa.

Earlier, after winning the toss, South Africa sent West Indies to bat first. Quinton De Kock was left out of the team due to personal reasons. However, CSA later confirmed that it was due to his refusal to take his knee down in support of the black lives matter movement in the previous match.

West Indies openers remained cautious and started the innings slowly with Lendl Simmons and Evin lewis struggling to deal with the new ball. After a brief period of quietness, Evin Lewis began to dominate the RSA bowlers. However, Simmons continued to struggle to time the ball.

After losing Evin Lewis in the 11th over, West Indies failed to accelerate the innings. The tiring effort from Lendl Simmons 16(35), which is the 2nd lowest runs scored by a batter after facing 35+ balls in the ICC T20 world cup, might have limited them in an agonising manner.

In the end, Kieran Pollard's little cameo helped West Indies go past 140 and post a respectable total. Evin Lewis 56(35) was the highest run-scorer for the West Indies.

Anrich Nortje was the star with the ball for South Africa. He was awarded the man of the match for his figure of 4-0-14-1.
