Scotland knock Oman out in the unannounced knockout game of Group B. They beat Oman by 8 wickets with 18 balls in hand to ensure their place in Super 12 as group champions.
They started cautiously chasing 123. They eased through to their win by the virtue of Kyle Coetzer's 41 off 28 and Richie Berrington's 31 off 21 and made their way to play with the big boys of World T20 for the first time.
Fayyaz Butt and Khawar Ali took 1 wicket each for Oman.
After winning the toss, Oman batted first but couldn’t really execute whatever they planned. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals and nobody could settle.
Maybe the pressure of the match got the better of them. Opener Aaquib Ilyas (37 off 35) and Captain Zeeshan Maqsood's (34 off 30) efforts saw them posting a somewhat decent total. Mohammad Nadeem also was handy with his 25 (21).
Josh Davey took 3 and Shafyaan Sharif and Michael Leask took 2 each.
In reply, Scotland were clinical to get over the line. Josh Davey became the man of the match for his controlled bowling spell of 3 for 25 from 4 overs.
