Bangladesh managed to get 124 runs on the board against England in their second match in the round of Super 12.
Winning the toss, Bangladesh decided to bat first once again. The Tigers arrived in the game with a forced change as Mohammad Saifuddin, who has been ruled out of the tournament due to an injury, made a place for Shariful Islam, who is making his World Cup debut in this game.
On the other hand, England fielded the same team that played in their first game against West Indies.
The opening pair failed to perform as usual. Both the openers Litton Das and Naim Sheikh fell cheaply of the bowling of Moeen Ali in his second over, the third one of the innings.
To make things even worse, Shakib Al Hasan too got dismissed to Chris Woakes in the last over of the powerplay as Bangladesh finished the period with field restrictions at 27/3.
Afterwards, two senior cricketers Mushfiqur Rahim and skipper Mahmudullah started the rebuilding process. Halfway through, Bangladesh were at 60/3.
However, immediately after the drinks break, Liam Livingstone was brought into the attack and he straightaway got the breakthrough dismissing Mushfiq (29 off 30).
A couple of overs later, the pair in the middle suffered a terrible mixup as Mahmudullah sold Afif Hossain down the river.
Livingstone claimed his second wicket in the form of Mahmudullah (19 off 24) in the fifteenth over.
Mahedi Hasan lost his wicket while trying to scope Tymal Mills in the eighteenth over.
In the penultimate over bowled by Adil Rashid, Nasum Ahmed got a couple of lusty blows away for two consecutive sixes and a deft touch to guide one through the gap between short third and backward point for a four.
The final over from Mills yielded only 5 runs as Nurul Hasan (16 off 18) gloved a fast-paced bouncer to the keeper and Mustafizur Rahman completely failed to pick a back-of-the-hand slower delivery only to receive a golden duck.
Nasum Ahmed remained unbeaten on the other end with 19 runs off 9 deliveries.
Tymal Mills was the pick of the bowlers with his spell of 3/27 in four overs. Moeen and Livingstone both chipped in with a couple of wickets each.
