The issue of Ben Stokes likely to be resolved

The issue of Ben Stokes, the 26-year-old English all-rounder, is yet to be solved as the England team is preparing for the Ashes without him.

ECB chief executive Tom Harrison said they would soon take a decision regarding the matter and provide a detailed report of the incident that took in Bristol in the early hours of 25 September.

The initial accusation rose when a video footage revealed scenes of Stokes physically assaulting two men. Furthermore, an X-ray following the day of the incident showed fracture to his right hand caused during the assault, reports Cricbuzz.

ECB quickly suspended him and also Alex Hales from selection until further notice. Andrew Strauss, Director of England Cricket, termed the incident to be "irresponsible" and "wrong" and felt the players should have sought legal help in case the other party did anything provocative. The cricket players, legends, and fans have expressed mixed opinions regarding this issue.

Currently, the ECB's probe committee and Avon & Somerset Police are conducting their investigations, and a decision on this matter is likely to be reached using the reports provided by both the parties. England will face Australia in the first Ashes test which is scheduled to begin in Brisbane on 23rd November.

England coach Trevor Bayliss believes that this incident will have no impact on their preparation and the players are ready for the Ashes. He did, however, mention that the addition of Ben Stokes would have been great for the team and urged that the regulatory bodies need to reach a decision quickly.
