The Hongkong Shanghai Bank (HSBC) Bangladesh, in partnership with DNCC, and Bangladesh Badminton Federation, is organising HSBC-Mayor's Cup School Badminton-2023.
Students from schools across Dhaka are gathering at Banani Kamal Ataturk Playground for the three-days long competition.
The tournament is going to provide an opportunity for budding badminton players from different English and Bangla medium schools to showcase their skills.
The tournament is open to students of grade 9 to 12 who registered for this tournament. In total 19 schools from Dhaka City are participating in the tournament.
“Badminton or sports in general, is a vital element to ensuring individuals' physical and mental development. Engagement in sports helps our youth force to grow up as responsible adults and contribute to a healthy society. DNCC is proud to be a partner of this tournament,“ said Atiqul Islam, mayor of DNCC.

"We are proud to support the HSBC-Mayor's Cup School Badminton Tournament, which encourages our future generation to get involved in sports and stay active."
The finale of the tournament will take place at the same venue on 25 February.
