Having played some eye-catching and copybook strokes, Liton's innings was at the centre of all the praises for the day.
The 86-run innings caught the attention of Harsha Bhogle, the legendary commentator from India.
"Delighted to see that the promise seen in Liton Das is beginning to flower" - these were the words Harsha Bhogle came up with via his Twitter account.
A prominent Bangladeshi television channel's Facebook page, however, translated the statement to a completely wrong meaning in a post on their verified Facebook page.
The caption translates, "The legendary commentator and cricket analyst, Harsha Bhogle sees shades of Andy Flower in Liton Das."
The way a famous platform completely misinterpreted the term 'flower' and presented it as the name of a former cricketer (Andy Flower) was criticised heavily by the fans on social media.
Some other prominent news portals too followed the footprints of the mentioned TV channel's Facebook page.
Another news portal misquoted the tweet from Harsha Bhogle as, "I can see shades of Andy Flower in Liton."
Such a mistake is completely unexpected as the whole interpretation of the tweet went in the wrong direction. Fans on social media have been mocking the instance and some have expressed frustration over the issue as they look to learn things from these sources.
