Bayern Munich secured its place in the German Cup semifinals with a 6-0 win thrashing third-division leader Paderborn on Tuesday.

Jupp Heynckes' 19th victory from 20 games since returning as coach keeps his side on track to repeat the 2013 treble of his previous stint in charge, reports AP.

Bayern is 18 points clear in the Bundesliga and likely to wrap up the title in record time, next faces Turkish side Besiktas in the Champions League, and has only two more games to win to reclaim the German Cup.

Kingsley Coman opened the scoring, turning Arjen Robben's miss-kick into the net, and then crossed for Robert Lewandowski to score their second, says a BBC report.

Joshua Kimmich beat the offside trap to finish Mats Hummels' pass over the top and Corentin Tolisso headed a fourth.

Robben wrapped the match up with two goals in the final five minutes.

Bayern have beaten Paderborn - who spent 2014-15 in the Bundesliga - by four goals or more in each of their four meetings.

Bayer Leverkusen joined the German champions in the last four, coming from 2-0 down after seven minutes to beat Werder Bremen 4-2 in extra time.
