Favourites Bangladesh women have put their prowess on show by handing Scotland a nine-wicket defeat in a warm-up match before the ICC Women’s World T20 Qualifier 2018 tournament.

Bangladesh scored the winning run with 10 overs to after bundling Scotland out for only 47 in Rotterdam on Thursday.

Scottish girls looked steady in the first half of their innings, scoring 35 for 1 in 10 overs.

But they lost the remaining nine wickets for just 12 more runs as leg-spinners Fahima Khatun and Rumana Ahmed were like fire on ice over them.

Fahima took 3 wickets in and gave away only 1 run in her spell.

Rumana returned 2 for 8 in her 4 overs.

Bangladesh had the worst possible start to their chase as opener Shamima Sultana went back in the hutch without scoring, bdnews24 reported.

But Ayesha Rahman (23) and Sharmin Sultana (18) made sure there was no more hiccup and took the team past the target for a smooth victory.

Bangladesh will face Papua New Guinea in their first match of the tournament on Saturday.
